Mikenna McManus rocketed a 39th-minute shot into the net which proved to be all the Huskies needed Thursday night as they took down the visiting New Hampshire Wildcats at Parsons Field, 1-0.Â
- McManus (five career goals) scored her first goal of the season off her left foot and had two shots on net in her complete, 90-minute performance.
- The Huskies had 16 total shots, putting seven on goal and testing the Wildcats' keeper throughout the night.
- Junior midfielder Alexis Legowski assisted the Huskies' lone goal, recording her second of the year.
- Goalkeeper Megan Adams earned her second win and clean sheet of the year, making three saves in her 90 minutes.
- Graduate student defender Julianne Ross captained the Huskies and contributed her third 90-minute game of the season, holding down the defensive end.
- Sophomore midfielder Eleanor Fisher worked hard in the Husky attack, taking three shots and testing the Wildcats' keeper twice.
- The Huskies' back line was spotless, allowing just three shots on net and conceding no corner kicks.
- NU controlled possession, holding the ball 54% of the time and spending two-thirds of their time in the attacking half.
This being the final home game of the Huskies' season-opening three-game homestand, they will travel to the University of Rhode Island for their next matchup on Sunday, Aug. 29 at 2 p.m. against the Rams.
