BOSTON — Northeastern Esports Coordinator
Tyler Levesque has announced the Rocket League and Valorant teams' Esports Collegiate Conference (ESC) schedules for the Fall 2021 season. For Rocket League, regular season matches begin Sept. 1 and will run weekly through Oct. 23 before playoff rounds, while in the Valorant league there are 11 weeks of play before playoffs begin in December.
This season, the Huskies joined the ESC for both Rocket League and Valorant, consisting of collegiate Esports programs from Akron, Toledo, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, Miami (Ohio), Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Bowling Green, Ohio, Northern Kentucky, Ball State, Buffalo and Kent State. The ESC is a subsidiary of the Mid-American Athletic Conference (MAC).
ROCKET LEAGUE SCHEDULE
- Sept. 1, begin Rocket League season with matches against Central Michigan and Buffalo.
- Sept. 15, look for revenge against Akron after the Huskies fell to the then-third ranked Zips last season.
- Oct. 13, take on Kent State in a rematch of last year's open qualifier round in the National Collegiate Rocket League Championship.
- Oct. 20, finish out the regular season with a match against Eastern Michigan.
- Oct. 30, semifinals begin for the ESC Fall 2021 Championship.
VALORANT SCHEDULE
- Sept. 4, kick off first-ever regular season with match against Eastern Michigan.
- Oct. 9, play two matches in one day, taking on Ohio at noon and Toledo at 6 p.m.
- Nov. 6, Huskies play their second doubleheader of the season, matching up with Buffalo at noon and Northern Illinois at 6 p.m.
- Nov. 13, close out the Northeastern Valorant team's inagural regular season with a match against Central Michigan.
- Dec. 2, playoffs begin with the quarterfinal round in the ESC Fall 2021 Championship.
