Timothy Ennin started the scoring with a goal in the 67th minute and sophomore midfielder
Federico Tellez added an insurance goal in the 75th minute to lead Northeastern men's soccer (3-1-1, 1-0-0 CAA) to a 2-1 victory over Hofstra (3-1-0, 0-1-0 CAA) in their first CAA game of the season at Parsons Field on Saturday evening.
- Ennin curled a shot into the top left corner in the 67th minute to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead and was assisted by senior midfielder Omar Da Naia.
- Ennin leads the team and CAA with five goals on the season. He is tied for second in the NCAA.
- Tellez's shot was an effort from outside the box that bounced into the bottom right corner, making it a 2-0 game. Ennin assisted the goal as well.
- Those were the first two goals Hofstra has given up this season.
- Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Colby Hegarty made four saves in net.
- The Huskies registered five shots on target from 14 total shots and also took four corner kicks.
- Zach Sauer, Omar Da Naia and Kolade Salaudeen anchored the defense, playing 90 minutes each and allowing just five corners and five shots on goal.
- Tellez led the team in shots with three while Ennin, senior midfielder Dan Munch and sophomore midfielder Harry Sankey each had two attempts.
The Huskies will now move onto their next opponent, crosstown rival Harvard, as they battle the Crimson on Tuesday night at Harvard ESPN+.
