BOSTON - Junior middle blocker
Nailah Jenkins tallied 16.5 points on 14 kills as the Huskies women's volleyball team (4-6, 0-0 CAA) finished off their home tournament by defeating the Harvard Crimson (1-4, 0-0 Ivy) at the Cabot Center on Saturday evening.
Despite winning the first set, the Huskies found themselves down 2-1 after three sets, battling back in the fourth and fifth (25-20, 24-26, 21-25, 25-18, 15-12) to get their second win of the weekend.
- Jenkins' 14 kills came on a .609 killing percentage and a .522 hitting percentage.
- Junior outside hitter Erica Staunton notched a team-best 15 kills on the evening for a total of 17 points.
- Junior setter Liz Carroll dished out 49 setting assists in the contest.
- A total of three Huskies notched two service aces; Carroll, junior libero Kayla Martin, and freshman defensive specialist Sara Kent.
- Martin also led the way defensively with a team-high 22 digs.
Northeastern will begin conference play this weekend at William & Mary this Saturday and Sunday, September 18 and 19.
