Søren Ilsøe scored in both halves and senior goalkeeper
Colby Hegarty stopped seven shots for Northeastern men's soccer (5-1-1, 2-0-0 CAA) as the Huskies beat William & Mary (2-1-0, 0-1-0 CAA) 2-1 in Williamsburg, Va. on Saturday afternoon.Â
- Ilsøe kicked off the scoring with a goal (2) in the 33rd minute—a header assisted by Andres Torrealba's free kick.
- Torrealba had his first assist of the season.
- In the second, Ilsøe scored again (3), this time rocketing a corner kick from Federico Tellez past the keeper to regain the Husky lead in the 67th minute.
- Tellez earned his fifth assist of the season, tied for first in the NCAA and leading the CAA.Â
- Northeastern earned six corner kicks compared to the Tribe's five.
- Graduate student defender Kolade Salaudeen played all 90 minutes and anchored the back line in front of Hegarty.
The Huskies have now won twice in a row and five of their last six. They'll return to Parsons Field for a matchup with in-state opponent Holy Cross on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. on NESN+.Â
