Ryan Massoud added a third and final goal in the 43rd as Northeastern men's soccer (6-1-1, 2-0-0 CAA) used three first-half finishes to earn a 3-1 victory against Holy Cross (4-2-2, 1-0-0 Patriot) at Parsons Field on Tuesday evening.
- Tellez scored his third goal of the season off a free kick that curled into the top right corner of the net. He is now third in the CAA in goals scored this year.
- Ilsøe's fourth goal of the season (tied for second in the CAA) came off a throw in that he rocketed off the crossbar and into the net.
- Jack Monte and Dan Munch assisted on the goal, each earning their first assist on the season.
- Massoud earned his first of the season after he finished off a redirection from teammates Jacob Marin-Thomson (3) and Nick Attanasio (1) that found his right foot.
- The Huskies were efficient with their shots on goal, scoring three of the four attempts on target this evening.
- On the defensive end, junior goalkeeper Colby Hegarty made two saves and graduate student defender Kolade Salaudeen put in another complete-game performance to anchor the back line.
- After this win, the Huskies have the best start through eight games (6-1-1) in program history since at least 1984.
- The last time Northeastern men's soccer won six of its first eight games was in 1993.
In their next matchup, the Huskies will travel to Quinnipiac for a matchup with the Bobcats on Saturday at 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
