Huskies Fall in Tough Battle at UNH

DURHAM, N.H. – The Northeastern men's soccer team (3-7-3) dropped a non-conference game on the road at New Hampshire (8-3) on Tuesday evening, 2-1 at Wildcat Stadium.

  • The Wildcats broke through first in the 24th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
  • Just two minutes later in the 26th minute, the Huskies were awarded a penalty kick on a handball from UNH in the box. Federico Tellez converted on the PK to tie the game with his third goal of the year.
  • Starting out the second half tied 1-1, the Wildcats found the back of the net in the 57th minute to push back out in front 2-1. A surge of UNH possession through the rest of the contest was enough to clinch the victory.
  • UNH led 6-2 in shots on goal and 9-3 on corner kicks.
  • Colby Hegarty made four saves in the contest, his most since September 13 against Harvard.

The Huskies will be back on the road to take on the College of Charleston in a CAA matchup on Oct. 15 at 12 p.m. The game will be streamed on FloFC.
