MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - The Northeastern men's soccer team (3-8-3, 2-4-1 CAA) fell in a road CAA match to the College of Charleston (5-4-4, 3-2-2 CAA) by a score of 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Patriots Point.
- The Huskies seemingly opened the contest with a goal in the ninth minute of the game on a strike from Federico Tellez, but the play was called back due to an offsides away from the play.
- Both sides notched two shots on goal in the first 45 minutes, with both goalies entering halftime with two saves.
- Colby Hegarty finished the contest with five saves - he was called into his most rigorous action to open the second half, with two highlight-reel saves in the opening 10 minutes of the half.
- Charleston tallied their goal on a free kick from about 20 yards out - Hegarty had a hand to the shot, but it was tucked perfectly on the post and gave the Cougars their 1-0 lead.
- Northeastern out-shot Charleston 9-5 in the second half - both teams totaled six shots on goal in the contest.
The Huskies return home for their last two home games of the 2022 regular season - they open up the week with Boston University this Tuesday, October 18 in their Breast Cancer Awareness game, followed by Senior and Alumni Day on Saturday, October 22 against William & Mary. Both games will stream on FloFC.
