Kayla Martin tallied her 1,000th career dig, and senior outside hitter
Erica Staunton had another double-digit kill performance to lead the Northeastern volleyball team (5-8, 2-2 CAA) to a five-set victory over Elon (5-10, 3-3 CAA) on Sunday afternoon at the Cabot Center. With the win, the Huskies completed the weekend sweep over the Phoenix.

Staunton had another stellar day, finishing with a team-high 25 kills on .288 hitting, one shy of a career-high. The senior also picked up another double-double with 10 digs.

Six digs away from the 1,000 for her career, Martin notched the milestone in the first set. The senior then finished the match with a team-high 15 digs.

Northeastern def. Elon (15-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20, 16-14)
- Senior middle blocker Nailah Jenkins chipped in with nine kills and four blocks.
- Junior outside hitter Defne Arliel had seven kills and four digs.
- Sophomore outside hitter Rafaella Lepenioti was strong at the service line, with a career-high five aces to go with eight digs.
- Graduate student middle blocker Nikiya Mitchell had nine kills on .278 hitting, and also had three blocks.
- Sophomore setter Jessica Frannea dished out a team-high 48 assists. The Huskies hit a blistering .387 on her sets.
- Elon got off to a quick 8-4 lead in the fifth set, but Northeastern outscored the Phoenix 12-6 the rest of the way to seal the win.
- Northeastern hit -.062 and .069 in the first two sets, but bounced back by hitting .286, .229 and .524 in the third, fourth, and fifth.
- Elon is 0-10 all-time in Boston.
