BOSTON— The No. 6/5 Northeastern women's hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie with No. 13 Providence on Saturday night at Matthews Arena. The Huskies (8-1-1, 6-1-1 HEA) won the shootout over Providence (7-2-1, 4-1-1 HEA), 2-1, to earn the extra Hockey East point.
  • Providence opened the scoring with a tally at the 7:57 mark in the first period. Junior Abbey Marohn tied the game at 1-1 at the 3:09 mark. Marohn's second career tally was assisted by senior Peyton Anderson and sophomore Taze Thompson.

  • Graduate student Maureen Murphy scored on the power-play in the third period to give the Huskies a 2-1 lead. Senior Katy Knoll and sophomore Tory Mariano had assists on the tally.
  • Providence went on to tie the game at 2-2 with a power-play tally of its own at the 12:17 mark in the third period. The two teams then headed to overtime where neither side could find the back of the net.
  • In the shootout, Philips made three saves on all of Providence's attempts, while graduate students Chloé Aurard and Alina Mueller potted shootout goals for the Huskies.
