Knoll, No. 7 Northeastern Down UNH, 5-0

DURHAM, N.H.— Powered by a three-point effort from senior Katy Knoll, the No. 7 Northeastern women's hockey team shutout the New Hampshire Wildcats, 5-0, on Friday evening at the Whittemore Center.
  • Graduate student Maureen Murphy pounced on a defense error from New Hampshire to pot the Huskies' first goal of the game. Murphy's tally was unassisted and came at the 17:25 mark of the first period.
  • In the second frame, graduate student Alina Mueller found the back of the net on the power-play to put Northeastern up 2-0. Mueller's goal was assisted by Murphy and Knoll.
  • Knoll got a goal of her own in the third frame to push the Huskies' lead to 3-0 with assists from freshman Holly Abela and sophomore Taze Thompson. Knoll then potted her second of the night and brought the score to 4-0. Mueller tallied the lone assist on Knoll's second goal.
  • Graduate student Mia Brown closed out the scoring with the Huskies' fifth goal of the evening, also a power-play tally. Sophomore Skylar Irving and graduate student Maude Poulin-Labelle had assists.
