No. 18/16 Huskies Shutout No. 11/9 Terriers On The Road

BOSTON – With two goals in the final period, the No. 18/16 Northeastern Huskies secure a 2-0 win over the No. 11/9 Boston University Terriers on Friday night at Agganis Arena.
  • The Huskies battled tough the opening 20 minutes as the period concluded at a 0-0 standstill. After getting his first career start as a Husky, freshman Hunter McDonald led the defensive efforts with three blocked shots to end the period.
  • Just as the first, the two teams found themselves scoreless after 40 minutes of action. Cam Lund and Matt Choupani pushed hard in the offensive zone for the Huskies, leading the team with five shots each after two periods.
  • Just over the halfway mark in the final frame, Lund stunned the Terriers crowd when he broke the scoring drought to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead. Off the defensive boards from Braden Doyle, Lund carried the puck for a wrist shot from the circle for his fifth of the season.
  • To sweeten the deal, in the final :54 seconds, Justin Hryckowian tabbed an empty-net goal, from Sam Colangelo and Gunnarwolfe Fontaine, to give the Huskies a 2-0 victory.
  • In an incredible game, goaltender Devon Levi completed his third shutout of the season, finishing the net with 41 saves against the Terriers.
The Huskies are back on home ice tomorrow night as they close out the weekend series with the Boston University Terriers. The game is set to start at 7 p.m. and can be streamed on ESPN+.
