TOWSON, MD. – Senior outside hitter Evelyn Gonzalez tallied a team-high eight kills, but it was not enough as the four-seed Northeastern volleyball team (14-13) fell to top-seeded Towson (28-1) in three sets in the CAA semifinals on Friday afternoon at SECU Arena.
 
Towson def. Northeastern (19-25, 22-25, 28-30)

• Senior libero Kayla Martin had a team-high 16 digs.
• Senior middle blocker Nailah Jenkins notched five blocks.
• Senior outside hitter Erica Staunton had seven kills and eight digs.
• Junior outside hitter Defne Arliel tallied five kills, two assists, and two blocks.
• Junior Marika Virthe had a strong match with seven kills and five blocks.
• Sophomore setter Jessica Frannea dished out 23 assists, and also had three kills.
• Towson outblocked Northeastern, 17.5 to 10.
• Towson's Victoria Barrett had a match-high 15 kills on .278 hitting.
• The match had 29 tie scores, and 12 lead changes. In a back and forth third set, there were 18 ties.
• Martin finishes her Husky career with 1,234 digs, which ranks seventh in program history.
• Staunton finishes her Northeastern career with 1,040 kills.
