NEWARK, Del. – The Northeastern field hockey team (5-14) was bested by the hosts Delaware in the CAA semifinals today to close out the season, 6-1.
 

• After a scoreless first quarter, the Blue Hens got on the board first off a penalty corner to take a 1-0 advantage.
• The Huskies answered to tie the game 1-1 on a goal from Emmy Stubbs (No. 12 on the year) off the penalty corner. Kate Blaisdell took an insert from Sarah Coyle and fired a shot that was tipped to the back of the net by Stubbs, the CAA Co-Rookie of the year.
• Delaware would add another before the half to make it 2-1, heading into the break.
• The Blue Hens took control in the second half, scoring three goals in the third quarter and added another in the fourth to provide the 6-1 result.
• Delaware out shot Northeastern 19-12 in the contest and enjoyed a penalty corner advantage of 9-6.
• Jonna Kennedy made two saves in the game.
