CHICAGO— Northeastern women's soccer alumnae
Mikenna McManus has earned a roster spot with the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), as announced on Tuesday by the team. McManus made the 26-player roster ahead of the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup.

In her five years with the Huskies, McManus was a mainstay on the backline, and earned All-CAA honors four years in a row. She was named All-CAA Second Team in 2018 and 2021, Third Team in 2019 and First Team in 2020.

McManus is one of six rookies named to the Red Star's roster, joining a group of veterans that made it to the 2021 NWSL Championship. The Lake Forest, California native currently has a contract offer extended from the Red Stars.

The Red Stars begin 2022 competition Sunday, March 20, against the Houston Dash on the opening weekend of the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup. Kickoff from PNC Stadium is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT, and will be broadcasted on Paramount+.
