LEXINGTON, KY. – Freshman guard
Gemima Motema tied a career-high with 20 points, but Davidson (16-16) used a big third quarter to defeat the Northeastern women's basketball team (14-17) by a score of 90-65 on Saturday evening at the Clive Beck Center.

Along with Motema, Northeastern had double-digit performances from sophomore forward
Izzy Larsen and sophomore forward
Leyla Ozturk, both tallying 10 points apiece.

Overall, in the game, the Huskies struggled offensively, shooting 36.2% (21-of-58).
- The Huskies stormed out to a quick 8-2 lead to start the game, highlighted by jumpers from graduate student forward Emily Calabrese and Motema.
- Davidson responded back with 10 straight points to take a 12-8 lead at the 4:39 mark.
- Freshman guard Camille Clement notched a three to cut the deficit to 12-11 at the 3:51 mark, but the Wildcats took a 22-17 lead into the second.
- Davidson continued its strong offensive performance, tallying seven straight points to start the quarter to extend the lead to 29-17 at the 6:58 mark.
- The Huskies notched their first field goal of the quarter with a layup by freshman forward Asha Parker at the 5:34 mark to trim the lead to 32-21.
- Northeastern struggled offensively, shooting 10% (1-of-10), and Davidson took a commanding 38-26 advantage into halftime.
- A layup by freshman guard Claudia Soriano and free throws by Motema cut the lead to single digits (38-30) at the 9:04 mark of the third, but the Wildcats responded right back with a three.
- The teams traded baskets for most of the quarter, with Davidson remaining in front by double-digits.
- Northeastern got into foul trouble, which resulted to the Wildcats being in the bonus.
- Davidson went on a 21-5 run, and ultimately took a 69-42 lead into the fourth.
- The Wildcats shot 55.6% in the game to seal the win.
- Junior guard Century McCartney had a stellar day on defense, tallying a career-high 11 rebounds.
- Larsen's 10 points ties a career-high.
- Clement had a career-high five rebounds.
