Jordan Harris Signs with Montreal Canadiens

MONTREAL - Northeastern University men's ice hockey's Jordan Harris has signed an entry level deal with the Montreal Canadiens. Harris, a native of Haverhill, Mass. wrapped up his fourth season as a Husky, serving as team captain. Harris was a key presence on Northeastern's blue line for two Beanpot Championships, a Hockey East Tournament Championship, the program's first Hockey East Regular Season Championship, and two NCAA Tournament bids.

"There's no one that puts more time and effort into his game..." said Fernie Flaman Head Coach Jerry Keefe. "He wants to be a hockey player. And when you have a captain that works as hard as he does, everyone falls in line. It's actually amazing to see the work he puts in."

Harris won the award for Hockey East's best defensive defenseman in the 2021-22 season, the first Husky defender to win the award since 2013-14. He was also named a Hockey East First Team All-Star for his efforts this season. He tallied five goals and 15 assists for Northeastern in his senior season.

"My time here at Northeastern has been truly special and a period in my life that I will cherish forever," said Harris. "The people I have met within the University have allowed me to create relationships that will last a lifetime."

In all, he's made a Hockey East All-Star team twice in his career and is a two-time Hobey Baker Nominee. Harris is also a semifinalist for the 69th Annual Walter Brown Award. Harris finishes his collegiate career with 130 appearances for Northeastern with 15 goals, 58 assists, for 73 points.

"I want to thank the coaches for believing in me, the players for making every day a blast to be at the rink, and the staff for making it all happen behind the scenes. There is something special here on Huntington Ave. The past 4 years have prepared me for the next step in my life with the Canadiens and I am humbled to be able to continue my hockey career with such a historic franchise!"
