BOSTON – Northeastern women's basketball Head Coach
Bridgette Mitchell excitedly announced the final addition to the Huskies on Monday, as Jaelyn Batts will join the roster this season.
"Jaelyn is a dynamic guard that I'm excited to coach. Her athleticism and experience of competing daily at a high level is going to have an immediate impact. Jaelyn's ability to score, rebound, and defend all five positions makes her a great fit for our program!"
Batts, a 6-0 senior guard, comes to Huntington Avenue after completing her past three seasons across town at ACC opponent Boston College. The South Riding, Virginia native played in 74 games for the Eagles, highlighted by a career-high 11 starts in her junior season in which she had her first-career double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds against Penn State. A force in all aspects of the game, Batts has tallied 177 rebounds, 73 assists, and 44 steals during her BC career. Prior to joining the Eagles, the senior was a two-time captain at Freedom High School. She is the all-time leading scorer at Freedom, tallied double-figures in 19 games as a senior, and notched 1,000 career points during her junior season.
