BOSTON—The Northeastern women's soccer team opened its 2022 slate with a 1-0 victory over Boston University on Thursday evening at Nickerson Field. Senior captain
Alexis Legowski lifted the Huskies to victory with the lone goal of the game.
- The Huskies and Terriers played a scoreless first half. Holland Stam held it down in goal for the Huskies, making three saves in her first 45 minutes of action. Stam finished her day with seven saves, a clean sheet and her first victory in a Northeastern uniform.
- Legowski broke the scoreless deadlock with NU's first goal of the season in the 48th minute of action. Katherine Marchesseault and Porter Dooley each tallied their first assists of the season on Legowski's goal.
- The victory marks Northeastern's first win over Boston University since 2018.
Northeastern will return to action on Sunday, Aug. 21 with the Huskies home-opener against Boston College at Parsons Field at 1 p.m.
