CAMBRIDGE, Mass.— Despite two first half goals, the Northeastern women's soccer team fell 3-2 in a tightly contested match against the Harvard Crimson on Monday afternoon at Jordan Field.
- Freshman Vivian Akyirem was once again the goal-scorer getting on the board for the Huskies (1-2-1, 0-0-0 CAA) in the seventh minute of action. Junior Jessie Hunt served the ball to Akyirem who played it past the goalkeeper for her second goal of the season.
- Harvard (2-0-0, 0-0-0 IVY) equalized the score at 1-1 in the 17th minute with a goal from Angela Caloia. The Crimson were able to get a second tally to take the score to 2-1 in the first frame.
- Freshman Ava Nace was not to be denied as she tied the score at 2-2 before the end of the first half with her first career goal.
- The Crimson once again took the lead, 3-2, right out of halftime with a strike off of a corner. Despite several quality chances, the Huskies were held off the board in the second frame.
- Graduate student goalkeeper Holland Stam finished with five saves on the day.
Northeastern returns to action on the road at New Hampshire on Friday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m.
