BROOKLINE, Mass.— Freshman
Vivian Akyirem scored her fifth goal of the season in the 89
th minute to lead the Northeastern women's soccer team (3-3-2) to a 1-1 tie against the No. 20 Brown University Bears (4-1-1) on Sunday afternoon at Parsons Field.
- The two teams played a scoreless first half, Brown eventually broke the scoreless deadlock in the 52nd minute. Ava Seelenfreund scored for the Bears off a corner from Sheyenne Allen.
- Akyirem's goal came in the 89th minute of action after Lauren Dupont and Jessie Hunt played a ball in to the freshman. Akyirem's goal was her fifth of the year and the fifth time Hunt assisted her.
- Graduate student goaltender Holland Stam finished with nine saves on the day.
The Huskies will open CAA play at Elon on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. on FloFC.
