HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Northeastern men's soccer team (2-2-3, 1-1-1), riding a four-game unbeaten streak, fell to the Hofstra Pride (4-2-0, 2-1-0 CAA) by a score of 2-1 on Saturday evening at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.
- The Pride got on the board first in the 10th minute to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Northeastern would look to answer back in the half on their three corner kicks but were unable to find the equalizer.
- Hofstra tallied a second goal in the 58th minute on a penalty kick.
- Northeastern drew a penalty of their own in the 70th minute, and grad. transfer Ole Kjørholt stepped up to the spot and sent it right down the middle for his first goal as a Husky, cutting the lead to 2-1.
- Despite holding most of the possession in the final 20 minutes, the Huskies were unable to find another clean shot, and Hofstra held on for the three points.
- It's the Huskies' first loss since August 29th, and just their first CAA loss of the season.
The Huskies have another mid-week non-conference match coming up next Wednesday, September 21 at Holy Cross. That game kicks off at 7 P.M. on ESPN+.
