STONY BROOK, N.Y.- Led by a goal from junior forward
Federico Tellez, the Northeastern men's soccer team (3-3-3, 2-1-1 CAA) took down Stony Brook (3-6-0, 1-3-0 CAA) by a score of 1-0, at LaValle Stadium on Saturday evening.
- Tellez got the Huskies on the board with a fantastic chip into the upper 90 in the 20th minute.
- The goal was the junior's second of the season.
- The Huskies held a 10-8 shots advantage, and 6-1 shots on goal advantage.
- Stony Brook had an 8-3 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
- Huskies graduate students Ahriá Simons, Ole Kjørholt and junior Fabrizio Cubeddo anchored the back line, playing all 90 minutes.
- Redshirt junior goalkeeper Colby Hegarty picked up a clean sheet, stopping the only shot he faced.
- The win marks the Huskies' first shutout since a 7-0 victory over Charleston last season on October 30.
