Huskies Use Six Different Goal Scorers, Roll Past Stonehill in Home Opener

DEDHAM, Mass. - The Northeastern field hockey team (1-2, 0-0 CAA) found scoring from six different athletes in route to a 7-0 win over Stonehill (0-2, 0-0 NEC) in the home opener today at Dedham Field.

  • Three Huskies tallied their first career goal in the contest.

  • Junior Mak Graves got the scoring started late in the first quarter off of a penalty corner from Sarah Coyle that was redirected by Maria Armaganian to put Northeastern up 1-0.

  • At the tail end of the first half with 2:33 remaining, sophomore Kate Blaisdell found the back of the net for her first career goal on an assist from Graves to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead into the break.

  • The Huskies came out of the break on fire with a goal just 27 seconds in. Emmy Stubbs scored her second of the season, finishing off a pile up in front of the net. The assist was credited to Coyle to extend the Huskies lead to 3-0.

  • Just six minutes later, Alana Fields recorded her first career goal on an assist from Blaisdell to go up 4-0 midway through the third quarter.

  • Wrapping up the third quarter, Emilia Adragna scored an unassisted goal to extend the Northeastern lead to five going into the final frame.

  • Anna-Kate Domingue posted her first collegiate goal with 12:52 left in the contest on an assist from Graves.

  • Finishing out the game was Adragna again with her second goal of the day and third of the season. The goal came with 50.4 seconds left on Lilly Smith's first career assist to cement the 7-0 result.

  • The Huskies outshot the Skyhawks 35-3 in the contest and 17-2 in shots on goal.

  • Northeastern enjoyed a 9-0 advantage in penalty corner opportunities.

The Huskies will be back in action this weekend with two road contests against Ivy League members Dartmouth (Sep. 9) and Brown (Sep. 11) at 3 p.m., and 1 p.m., respectively. Both games will be streaming on ESPN+.
