BROOKLINE, Mass. - After trailing by one goal twice in the contest, the Northeastern men's soccer team (1-1-2) battled back to equalize twice against the Quinnipiac Bobcats (2-1-1), ending their contest in a 2-2 draw on Tuesday night at Parsons Field.
- Both teams got on the board early in the first half of the contest, with the two first half goals coming in the first 25 minutes.
- The Bobcats got on the board first in the 20th minute bouncing a ball off the left post and in.
- The Huskies responded on a set piece in the 25th minute - Zach Sauer sent a line drive ball into the box and Tobias Wangerud rose up to slightly redirect the ball with his head, finding the back of the net for the 1-1 score.
- Quinnipiac got on the board early in the second half with a 55th minute goal on a fast break and a deflection.
- The Huskies finally cashed in on their offensive chances in the 83rd minute when Ryan Massoud collected a clearance from about 25 yards out - he found his lane and fired a low curling shot into the bottom left corner to tie the game back up at 2-2.
- Both teams tallied three shots on goal - Quinnipiac held the slight advantage in total shots, 7-6.
- Northeastern took two corner kicks in the contest to Quinnipiac's zero.
- It's the second straight home draw for the Huskies, who opened the season with a 1-1 draw to UMass.
The Huskies stay home for the next two games, welcoming CAA foe Drexel to Parsons Field this Saturday, September 10 at 5 p.m. on NESN+.
