FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Northeastern women's soccer team (3-3-1) fell to the Fairfield Stags (5-1-0), 2-1, on Thursday evening at Lessing Field.
- The Jessie Hunt and Vivian Akyirem connection was successful for the fourth time this season when Akyirem opened the scoring in the 27th minute for the Huskies. All four of Akyirem's goals this season have been assisted by Hunt.
- The Stags evened the score at 1-1 in the 36th minute and the two teams headed into the half tied.
- Fairfield was able to find the back of the net in the second half to eventually claim a 2-1 victory.
- Holland Stam finished with eight saves in the game.Â
Northeastern will return home to Parsons Field to close out its non-conference slate against No. 20 Brown on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m.
