BOSTON — The No. 18/17 Northeastern men's hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 20 Merrimack on Saturday evening.

• Merrimack controlled scoring through the first two periods of the game, taking a 2-0 lead into the final frame.
• The Warriors extended their lead, 3-0, at the 12:05 mark in the third period
• Graduate student Brett Edwards cut the deficit to 3-1 late in the third period. Edwards, who scored his first goal as a Husky, was able to poke one under the Merrimack goaltender with 9:19 left in the game. He was assisted by Matthew Staudacher, who skated in his 100th career game, and Vinny Borgesi.
• Freshman Cameron Whitehead made a career-high 31 saves in net.
• Sophomore Jack Williams led both teams with nine faceoff wins, and freshman Dylan Hryckowian had a team-high six shots on goal.

Northeastern will next face UMass in a lone Friday night (Nov. 3) contest at Mullins Center.
