BROOKLINE, Mass.— Powered by
Jessie Hunt's fifth goal of the season, the Northeastern women's soccer team defeated the College of Charleston Cougars, 2-0, on Thursday evening at Parsons Field.
Holland Stam made four saves in goal for her second shutout of the season.
- Northeastern held a six to three shots on goal advantage in the first half, but neither side could find the back of the net.
- The offense opened up for Northeastern in the second half, with Jessie Hunt scoring her fifth goal of the season to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead. Hunt's eventual game-winner was assisted by Alexis Legowski.
- Lauren Ahles doubled the Northeastern lead just over six minutes later with a redirected goal off a Maddie Aughe shot. Aughe and Maggie Cochran were both credited with assists.
- Aughe's assist marked her first collegiate point.Â
- The Huskies outshot the Cougars 22-8 overall and 13-4 with shots on goal. Stam made four saves in goal for the Huskies for her sixth win of the season.
Northeastern will next hit the road to face Monmouth on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m.
