PROVIDENCE – The Northeastern men's ice hockey team dropped a close overtime battle, 2-1, to the #5/6 Providence Friars on Friday evening.

- The game was scoreless through the opening 19:36 of play, before Providence got on the board to take a 1-0 lead in final seconds of the first period.
- Just before the buzzer of the first frame, the Huskies would earn a man advantage to carry over into the second period.
- Wasting no time, Gunnarwolfe Fontaine scored his first of the season for the game's equalizer goal. On the glove side bury, the Rhode Island native was assisted by senior Alex Campbell and sophomore Cam Lund.
- Regulation hockey was not enough as the score remained 1-1 after 60 minutes of play. In overtime, the Friars were able to score at the 1:30 mark to take a 2-1 victory.

The Huskies are back on home ice tomorrow night (Nov. 11) as they host #5/6 Providence College in their annual military appreciation game.
