BOSTON - The Northeastern volleyball team (11-13, 9-9 CAA) fell to the Towson Tigers (23-5, 16-2 CAA) on Sunday afternoon at the Cabot Center.

With UNCW's win over William & Mary and Stony Brook's win over Hofstra, the Huskies clinched the final spot in the CAA tournament as the six seed.
- Set One: The Huskies got off to a 5-2 lead, capped off by blocks by Virthe and Arliel. A few points later, Towson pulled ahead at 9-7 after a 5-0 run. A service error by the Tigers knotted the frame up at 12, but Towson tallied the next six points to extend its advantage to 18-12. The Tigers ultimately took the set at 25-20.
- Set Two: Both teams traded points, with neither leading by more two. Tied at nine, Towson tallied the next four points to pull ahead at 14-9. Arliel tallied a kill to trim the deficit to 15-11, but the Tigers went on another 4-0 run to lead 19-11. Towson took the set at 25-16.
- Set Three: The Tigers got off to an early 6-1 advantage and remained in front. A kill by Abby Reck and an error by Towson trimmed the deficit to 13-9, but Towson responded back. The Tigers extended their lead to 20-14, but the Huskies fought back down the stretch. Northeastern tallied nine of the next 13 points to make it 24-23, but Towson notched the next point to seal the match win.
- Â Zier tallied six kills and four blocks.
- Virthe had five kills and six blocks.
- Peleg dished out a team-high 17 assists.
- Donaphon had another stellar match for the Huskies on the back line with 19 digs.
The Huskies will take on the three-seed Campbell Camels in the CAA tournament first round on Thursday, November 16. First serve is slated for 6:30 p.m. and will stream on FloVolleyball.
