BOSTON -- The Northeastern Huskies dropped, 4-2, to the No. 13 New Hampshire Wildcats in game one of the weekend series.
- After a scoreless first period, Northeastern scored the opening goal of the game at the 3:21 mark in the middle frame. With his third goal of the season, senior Alex Campbell weaved his way towards the crease for a tally that was assisted by freshman Andy Moore, for his first career point, and graduate-student Pito Walton.
- The Wildcats added four unanswered goals to carry a 4-1 lead into the final minutes of the game.
- At the buzzer to conclude regulation play, the Huskies were able to cut the Wildcats deficit to two. Off a tip outside of the crease, captain Justin Hryckowian recorded his second goal in as many games with assists from Walton, his second of the night, and senior Gunnarwolfe Fontaine.
- Goaltenders Cameron Whitehead and Connor Hopkins split time in net for the Huskies. Whitehead, through two periods, made 13 saves, while Hopkins, in his season debut, finished with six saves.
- Campbell and sophomore Vinny Borgesi lead the team with five shots each, while Hryckowian finished with a perfect faceoff percentage, tallying 11 wins.
Northeastern is on the road at Whittemore Center tomorrow for game two against New Hampshire, starting at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
