TROY, N.Y. – In a back-and-forth battle, the Northeastern Huskies tied, 3-3, with the RPI Engineers in game one on Saturday afternoon.

- RPI opened scoring at the 5:18 mark into the opening frame.
- Just before the first period closed out, the Huskies tied the game 1-1 going into intermission. After forcing the turnover, sophomore Jack Williams netted his second goal of the season.
- The Engineers tallied another in the opening minutes of the second period to take a 2-1 advantage.
- Williams, for the second time of the game, found the back of the net with a backdoor goal. The Maine native was assisted by sophomores Vinny Borgesi and Cam Lund to knot things at 2-2.
- To take a lead into the third period, Northeastern added one more for a 3-2 advantage. Graduate-student Pito Walton sniped one back the RPI goaltender with a tee up from senior Gunnarwolfe Fontaine.
- The Engineers squared the game again, 3-3, at the 6:06 mark in the third period, sending the game to overtime.
- Following a scoreless overtime stretch, the two teams went to shootout where captain Justin Hryckowian tallied the lone shootout goal.
- In 64:50 of action, netminder Cameron Whitehead finished with 23 saves.
- Hryckowian led the team with 10 faceoff wins, while Borgesi and senior Alex Campbell recorded five shots on goal.

The Huskies will be back at Houston Field House again tomorrow afternoon (3 p.m.) for game two with RPI.
