NEWARK, Del. — Despite a game-tying goal in the fourth quarter from junior midfielder
Alana Fields, the fourth-seeded Northeastern Huskies field hockey team (8-10, 3-3 CAA) fell 2-1 to the No. 1 Monmouth Hawks (12-5, 5-1 CAA) Friday afternoon in the CAA Semifinal at Fred P. Rullo Stadium.
- Fields' goal came with 7:22 to play in the contest off a pass from senior forward Mak Graves. The Louisville native tipped her first goal of the season in to make it 1-1, while it was Graves' seventh assist of the year.
- Senior forward Sarah Coyle led Northeastern in shots on goal with two and graduate student back led the Huskies with three shots.
- Junior goaltender Kristina Merashoff made four saves in net for the Huskies on six shots.
- The go-ahead goal came with 4:13 to play for the Hawks.
The Huskies finish their season with an 8-10 record, making their third straight CAA Tournament and 14
th total.
