BOSTON— The No. 13 Northeastern women's hockey team fell to the University of Connecticut Huskies, 3-0, on Friday evening in Matthews Arena.
- UConn took a 1-0 lead in the first period after scoring 12:27 into the contest. Connecticut then doubled its lead in the second period with a power-play tally at the 11:38 mark.
- UConn closed out the game with an empty-net goal with two seconds remaining to bring the final score to 3-0.
- Northeastern was unable to get on the scoreboard despite outshooting UConn, 23-17. Sophomore Holly Abela and freshman Allie Lalonde led all players with four shots each.
- Fifth year netminder Gwyneth Philips posted 14 saves for the Huskies in net.
Northeastern and Connecticut will close out the home-and-home series at the Toscano Family Ice Forum on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m.
