Deja Bristol tallied a team-high 15 points, but it was not enough as the seven-seed Monmouth Hawks (17-15) used a big third quarter to surge past the third-seed Northeastern women's basketball team (19-12) on Saturday in the CAA semifinals at SECU Arena.

The Huskies also had double-digit performances from junior
Derin Erdogan and graduate student
JaMiya Braxton. Erdogan had 13, and Braxton notched 10 points.

Bristol also was dominant on the boards for Northeastern, leading the team with nine rebounds. Sophomore
Gemima Motema also chipped in with seven points and five rebounds.
- Monmouth got off to a hot start, taking an early 6-0 lead.
- Senior Jaelyn Batts ended the run with a bucket, but the Hawks responded right back with a three to lead 9-2.
- After Monmouth tallied a three to go up 12-2 at the 5:51 mark, the Huskies went on a 5-0 run, highlighted by a three from Motema to cut the deficit to 12-7.
- The Huskies went on an 8-0 run, highlighted by a three from junior Maddie Vizza to trim the Monmouth lead to 12-10, but Monmouth took a 16-12 advantage into the second.
- The Huskies got off to a stellar start in the second, storming out to a 10-0 run, holding Monmouth without a basket for over five minutes to take a 22-16 advantage at the 4:56 mark.
- Monmouth went on a 5-0 run a few minutes later to cut Northeastern's lead to 24-23, but Motema immediately ended the run with a layup.
- Bristol tallied four crucial free throws in the final minute, and the Huskies led 30-26 at halftime.
- The Huskies got a quick layup by Erdogan to start the third, but Monmouth went on a 9-0 run to take the lead back at 35-32 at seven-minute mark.
- After being down 38-32, Bristol tallied back-to-back buckets to knot the contest up (38-38) at the 4:19 mark.
- Monmouth went on a 10-0 run down the stretch, and took a 48-38 advantage into the fourth after shooting 60% overall (6-of-10) and 50% (3-of-6) from deep in the frame.
- A layup by Braxton got the Huskies back within eight right away in the fourth, but Monmouth tallied five straight points to balloon their advantage to 53-40 at the 8:04 mark.
- A layup by junior Halle Idowu and a Braxton three cut the Monmouth lead to 61-52 with 4:56 to go, but Monmouth tallied a three-pointer a few minutes later to put the game back out of reach for good.
- Monmouth edged the Huskies in points off turnovers (11-7), second-chance points (18-16), and fast break points (4-2)
