BROOKLINE, Mass. – The Northeastern Huskies (35-7, 16-5 CAA) completed a three-game sweep of the Towson Tigers (13-31, 3-17 CAA) coming back to win 5-4 on Senior Day at Friedman Diamond.
The Huskies found themselves down 4-1 in the sixth inning, and rallied back to lead 5-4 by the end of the seventh inning – both
Harrison Feinberg and
Gregory Bozzo hit huge home runs in the seventh to tie the game and take the lead. Senior relief pitcher
Nick Davis (W, 2-1) earned the second win of his career pitching two perfect innings.
- Towson was able to strike first in the series finale, with a two-run home run in the second inning to lead 2-0.
- The Huskies responded in the third with a solo shot from leadoff man Tyler MacGregor, ending his nine-game home run drought. His 11th long ball of the season made it 2-1.
- The Tigers extended their lead in the fifth with two more runs, leading 4-1.
- The Huskies loaded the bases twice in the bottom of the sixth, but only scored one run an RBI fielder's choice by Mike Sirota.
- The Husky bats finally roared to life with a three-run bottom of the seventh, which gave the Huskies their first lead of the day – a two run homer for Harrison Feinberg tied the game, and a solo shot from Gregory Bozzo took the lead.
- Starting pitcher Wyatt Scotti worked four innings, allowing just the two runs from the home run, punching out six batters on the day.
- The bullpen took over in the fifth, with Jack Beauchesne working the fifth and sixth – he allowed just one earned run on three hits, and recorded a strikeout.
- Senior Nick Davis took over in the seventh, ahead of Northeastern's big scoring inning. He earned the win on his Senior Day, working two innings, allowing no base runners and striking out one.
- Coming in for his second save of the weekend was Griffin Young, who allowed just one hit in the top of the ninth, holding on to the one-run lead to secure the series sweep.
- The Huskies have now won eight straight – it's their third eight-game winning streak of the year.
- Northeastern sweeps back to back CAA weekends for the first time since the 2021 season – it's their third CAA sweep of the season, and their sixth straight CAA series win.
Northeastern begins an eight-game road trip beginning next Wednesday, May 3
rd as the Huskies travel to North Easton, Mass. to face Stonehill. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
