Huskies Wrap Up at Eastern Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass.— On a rainy day on Lake Quinsigamond, the Northeastern women's rowing team advanced four boats to the grand finals and two to the petite finals at the Eastern Sprints.
  • The Huskies first varsity four, fourth varsity eight, third varsity eight and first varsity eight all competed in their respective grand finals. Additionally, Northeastern's second varsity four and second varsity eight advanced to their respective petite finals.
  • The second varsity four placed third in the petite final, with a time of 7:48.88. The second varsity eight won their petite final with a time of 6:34.96, including besting CAA foe Drexel by over 10 seconds.
  • The first varsity four placed sixth in the grand final, crossing the finish line with a time of 7:40.98.
  • The fourth varsity eight won their grand final with a time of 6:56.21, crossing the finish line three seconds over the next closest finisher. The third varsity eight recorded a third-place finish with a time of 6:44.00, just under a second behind second-place Syracuse.
  • The first varsity eight also advanced to the grand final after placing second in their heat. Stroked by Charlotte Kershaw, the 1V8 placed sixth with a time of 6:33.48 in the grand final.
Northeastern will next head to the CAA Championships on Friday, May 12 at Fish Creek in Saratoga, N.Y.
