BOSTON— Head coach
Joe Wilhelm of the Northeastern women's rowing team has announced the captains ahead of the 2026-27 season. This year's captains include senior
Hannah Boone and junior
Zara Peele.
"Our athletes have chosen two outstanding student athletes to lead this year's team," remarked Wilhelm. "Each brings their own leadership style to the position, but share the commitment to build on our culture of excellence on the water and in the classroom."
The duo will help guide a team that captured a 12th-straight CAA title and 12th-straight appearance at the National Championship regatta in 2025-26. Last year, Boone sat in the three seat of the varsity eight that crossed the line sixth in the C Final at the NCAA Championships with a time of 6:20.142, a program-best at the NCAAs. Peele rowed in the fourth varsity eight at the Doc Hosea Invite and at Eastern Sprints last season.
