BROOKLINE, Mass.— Powered by three different goal scorers, the Northeastern women's soccer team defeated the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon at Parsons Field.
- Alexis Legowski got the Huskies on the board just before the half, putting in a free kick from Faith Rosenblatt to give Northeastern a 1-0 lead. Legowski's goal was her first of the season.
- The Huskies' offense got going in the second half with Sofie Fox doubling the NU lead to 2-0. Lauren Dupont intercepted an Eastern Michigan pass to slot it into Fox for the goal.
- Megan Putvinski then got her first goal of the year with assists from Fox and Jessie Hunt to bring the score to 3-0.
- Eastern Michigan was able to get one back in the 83rd minute to push the final score to 3-1.
- Holland Stam posted her second win of the season, making five saves on the afternoon.
Northeastern is back in action at Parsons Field on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. against Boston University.
