Holbrook, Bosco Join Baseball Coaching Staff

BOSTON – Northeastern University baseball head coach Mike Glavine has announced two new additions to his coaching staff for the upcoming 2024 season. Assistant coaches Frank Holbrook, formerly of Rhode Island College, and Chris Bosco, returning to Northeastern from Dartmouth College, will join Glavine and Associate Head Coach Kevin Cobb for the 2024 campaign. Both Holbrook and Bosco will work with the offense looking to repeat the major successes of the 2023 season.

"I am very excited to welcome both Coach Bosco and Coach Holbrook to our staff for the upcoming season," said Glavine. "Both will bring a wealth of knowledge, passion and energy to our student athletes. I believe it's important to continue to grow the program and have a growth mindset as coaches.  Coach Holbrook and Coach Bosco will provide fresh ideas and new energy.  I am excited to get started with them and get to work with the team."

Frank Holbrook joins the Huskies after five seasons as head coach of Rhode Island College, with a career record of 113-52-1 with the Anchormen. He has also served as the head coach of the Newport Gulls of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), where this past summer his Gulls claimed the NECBL championship with a 31-11 record. In his RIC tenure, he never faced a losing season, and coached three All-Americans. Prior to Rhode Island College, he was an assistant coach at his alma mater, Wheaton, where he spent five years as an assistant coach, coaching up two players to All-American status.

Chris Bosco returns to Northeastern after one season as an assistant coach at Dartmouth College. Prior to Dartmouth, Bosco was the volunteer assistant coach at Northeastern for three seasons from 2019 to 2022. His primary responsibilities with the Huskies and the Big Green have been working with the outfielders and hitters – in his previous Northeastern tenure, his outfielders put up astounding numbers in the 2021 regular season and postseason, en route to the program's first CAA tournament title. Bosco spent his playing career at Roger Williams University, where he was regarded as one of the best defensive catchers in the nation.

The Huskies return to campus for fall ball this September, with official schedule and roster announcements coming later this fall.
