BROOKLINE, Mass.— Vivian Akyirem and
Avery LeVangie each tallied their third goal of the season, a team-high, as the Northeastern women's soccer team tied the Drexel Dragons, 2-2, on Sunday afternoon at Parsons Field.
- The Dragons took an early 1-0 lead in the 21st minute of the game.
- The Huskies tied things up to open the second half as Akyirem buried a penalty shot in the 54th minute for a 1-1 game.
- With speed, LeVangie rushed the Dragons keeper and scored for a 2-1 advantage in the 74th minute.
- Drexel hung onto the draw with a late, game-tying goal in the 79th minute.
- Holland Stam posted two saves on the day and the Huskies outshot the Dragons eight to four.
The Huskies hit the road next week with a Thursday night matchup (Sept. 14) at Campbell, kicking off at 7 p.m.
