BUIES CREEK, N.C. – In the first ever meeting of the two programs, Northeastern (3-3-3, 1-2-2 CAA) fell to the Campbell Camels (2-3-4, 1-2-2) by a score of 1-0 on Saturday evening at Eakes Athletics Complex.
- The teams played to a scoreless draw in the first half – the Huskies held a 6-2 shot advantage at halftime, 3-1 on target.
- The Camels notched the opening goal of the contest in the 85th minute on a set piece from about 30 yards out to take the 1-0 lead.
- Campbell looked to extend the lead in the 87th minute on a penalty kick but was unable to convert.
- The Huskies got a late corner with an attempt to equalize in the 89th minute, bringing up keeper Gregor Shaw, but the ball skimmed of a Northeastern head and wide of the net.
- Northeastern outshot the Camels 8-3 on target in the contest.
Northeastern returns home this Tuesday, October 3 to host No. 24 New Hampshire at Parsons Field. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. on FloFC and NESN+.
