BROOKLINE, Mass.— Lauren Ahles scored her first career goal to guide the Northeastern women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory in the team's CAA opener against the UNCW Seahawks on Thursday night at Parsons field.
Jessie Hunt and
Vivian Akyirem each posted a goal and an assist on the night for the Huskies.
- Ahles potted her first career goal in the 37th minute to put Northeastern up 1-0. Jessie Hunt and Vivian Akyirem combined on the assists on Ahles' goal.
- Building off of the 1-0 lead at the half, Northeastern doubled its lead when Akyirem sent in a free kick from just outside the box. Akyirem's goal was her second in as many games.
- In the final minute of action, Ahles won a penalty for the Huskies and Hunt stepped up to take it. Hunt calmly slotted it home to bring the final score to 3-0.
- Holland Stam posted her first shutout of the season with four saves.
The Huskies are back in action at Parsons field for Alumni Day on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 12 p.m. against Drexel.
