Men’s Rowing Announces 2024 Spring Schedule

BOSTON – Northeastern men's rowing head coach Alex Perkins has announced the 2024 spring schedule on Wednesday. The slate features dual races against Boston University, Brown, and Harvard at home on the Charles, and includes trips to New Jersey and Florida.

The Huskies are coming off strong spring season in 2023, that was highlighted by a stellar weekend at the IRA National Championships. Northeastern's first varsity boat took down Harvard down the stretch in the A/B semifinal, finishing in third place with a time of 6:05.934, beating the Crimson by nearly a second, to advance to the grand final for the third time in the last four championships (2023, 2021, 2019). Entering the weekend seeded 10th, the first varsity finished the season sixth in the nation, and as a team, the Huskies placed ninth in the Ten Eyck standings with 186 points, up four spots from the year prior in 13th place.

Northeastern will kick off its spring slate on March 23 with the Burk Cup at UPenn (Lake Carnegie). The Huskies will then head down to Sarasota, Florida for the IRA Invitational on March 29-30. At the invitational, Northeastern is slated to face some of the best in the nation, two of which finished in the grand final top four at IRA's in Washington and Yale, as well as Harvard, Brown, and Stanford.

After the trip to Florida, the Huskies will have three straight races on the Charles with Boston University for the Arlett Cup on April 6, and then Brown for the Dreissigacker Cup on April 13. Northeastern is also slated to face Harvard for the Smith Cup on April 29.

Eastern Sprints will be held on Sunday, May 19 in Worcester, Massachusetts on Lake Quinsigamond, and IRA's will be on Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2 at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey.
