BOSTON – Junior guard
Masai Troutman of the Northeastern men's basketball team was named to the All-CAA Preseason Second Team at the conference's annual Media Day on Friday morning.
Troutman played and started in all 32 games as a sophomore in 2023-24, averaging 28.5 minutes per game, good for second on the team. He was fourth on the team in scoring, averaging 10.0 points per game, which is second highest of all returning Huskies behind only
Harold Woods.
The Frederick, Md. native shot 43% from the field a season ago and reached double figures in 17 games highlighted by a season-high 17 points, shooting 40% from the field at La Salle. He was also second on the team with 31 steals.
Northeastern, which was picked to finish sixth by the coaches in the CAA Preseason Poll, opens the season on November 4 at crosstown rival Boston University (7:30 p.m.) before its home opener at Matthews Arena on November 10 against Princeton (2 p.m.).
