PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Northeastern field hockey team's (12-7, 5-1 CAA) season came to an end in the CAA semifinals, as they fell to the Delaware Blue Hens (9-9, 4-2 CAA) by a score of 3-1 on Friday afternoon at Buckley Field.
- The Huskies grabbed the contest's first goal after graduate student Lauren Rowe's shot from the top of the circle was deflected off the stick of senior Maria Armaganian and found its way into the upper netting of the cage. The opening goal was Armaganian's first of the season.
- The away side answered minutes later from a penalty corner of their own, leaving the first quarter with the score tied at 1-1.
- After a goalless second, the Blue Hens grabbed the go-ahead on another penalty corner with 6:14 left in the third quarter.
- Delaware added a third with 6:22 remaining in the final quarter and would hold on for a 3-1 decision.
- Rowe led all players with three shots on goal.
The Huskies finish their season with a 12-7 record, making their fourth straight CAA Tournament and seventh in the last eight years.
