DURHAM, N.H.— Sophomore
Jules Constantinople scored the overtime game-winner to send the No. 13 Northeastern women's hockey past the New Hampshire Wildcats, 3-2, on Thursday night at the Whittemore Center. Northeastern completed the come-from-behind OT victory after being down 2-0 in the first period.
- New Hampshire jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period with goals under three minutes apart. The Wildcats scored first at the 13:46 mark and then potted a 5-on-3 power-play goal to double their lead at the 16:24 mark.
- With eight seconds left in the first period, fifth year Katy Knoll was able to cut the deficit to 2-1 with her third goal in as many games. Knoll's goal was assisted by graduate student Peyton Anderson and junior Skylar Irving.
- Peyton Anderson evened the score at 2-2 with a power-play goal 57 seconds into the third period. Her team-leading 13th tally of the season was assisted by Constantinople and graduate student Megan Carter.
- The two sides skated to overtime after playing through regulation with the score knotted at 2-2. A minute and two seconds into overtime, Constantinople and junior Taze Thompson combined to deliver the Huskies an overtime game-winner.
- Fifth year Gwyneth Philips made 26 saves in net in her 17th victory of the season.
Northeastern will next face New Hampshire on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 4:30 p.m. in Matthews Arena.Â
