HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Hofstra (16-11, 9-5) buried 13 threes and Jaquan Carlos dished out 19 of the team's 25 total assists to help the Pride top the Northeastern men's basketball team (10-17, 5-9) on Saturday at the Mack Sports Complex, 82-62.

Â
Darlinstone Dubar (24) and German Plotnikov (20) combined for 44 points on the afternoon as the Pride shot 56%Â Â
Â
Hofstra led for nearly the entire afternoon thanks to an 8-of-11 start from the field and a combined 22 points from Dubar and Tyler Thomas to take a 41-30 lead into the locker room. The Pride, which shot 54% as a team in the opening 20 minutes, went 6-of-12 from deep and used a 9-2 run over the final 1:32 to get its lead up to double digits at the break.
Â
The Huskies, meanwhile, were hot and cold, starting the game 1-of-6 before a string of five in a row brought the visitors back into the game. Doherty was the difference for Northeastern, scoring 12 points on 5-of-7 from the field to keep the Huskies within striking distance, while Troutman add nine points.Â
Â
Northeastern got the deficit down to eight early in the second half, but another barrage of threes from the Pride including a string of four in a row over a six-minute stretch would put the game out of reach.
Â
The Huskies will return home next week for its final two home games of the season, beginning on Thursday night against Elon. Tip-off at Matthews Arena is set for 7 p.m. on NESN+ and FloHoops.
