BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team will look to make it three straight wins when the Huskies hit the road for the final two games of the regular season this weekend, beginning on Thursday night at Delaware (7 p.m.). NU will then head to Drexel for a 4 p.m. tip-off on Saturday afternoon. Both games will stream on FloHoops.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1. PLAYOFF PICTURE
With just two games remaining in the regular season, the Huskies are currently in a tie for ninth in the league standings with Campbell. A Northeastern win or North Carolina A&T loss in either of the next two games would give the Huskies a first-round bye at next week's CAA Championship.
2. SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THIS WEEKEND'S OPPONENTS
Thursday marks the 65th meeting between the two teams, with Delaware holding a 35-29 lead in the series. The Blue Hens went 2-1 against Northeastern last season, including a 77-74 overtime win in the quarterfinals of the CAA Championship.
Saturday's matchup with Drexel, meanwhile, will be the 73rd meeting all-time with the Dragons holding a 44-28 edge including wins in each of the last five games.
3. DIMES
Northeastern is fourth in the CAA averaging 13.8 assists per game, including an average of 17.2 in the last six. The Huskies have recorded at least 15 assists in 12 games this season, including a season-high 22 on 31 made baskets on Nov. 21 against Georgia Southern, the most for Northeastern in a regulation game since Dec. 30, 2019 vs. James Madison (23).
Chris Doherty leads the team with 70 assists (2.5 apg) this season, and could become the first Husky since Chaisson Allen (2010-11) to lead the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists.
