BROOKLINE, Mass. – In their 2024 home opener, the Northeastern Huskies (0-1-1) came back from down 1-0 to tie the Boston University Terriers (0-0-2) 1-1 at Parsons Field on Tuesday night. Northeastern tied the game off the boot of
Fraser Brown, who scored from the penalty spot midway through the second half.
- The Terriers took the lead in the 30th minute on a shot from just outside the 18' on an unassisted breakaway.
- Northeastern responded with on-target shots but was unable to create many chances late despite seven total shots in the first half.
- The Huskies picked up the pressure in the second half with a pair of corners in the first 20 minutes of play.
- Midfielder Ethan Franco charged into the box to retrieve a through ball and was taken down by a BU defender, setting up a 69th minute penalty kick. Fraser Brown stepped up to the spot and converted for his first goal of the 2024 season.
- The Huskies looked for the winner with a flurry of chances in the final 10 minutes that were blocked, followed by a last-minute corner kick that was headed down by Harry Sankey, but the shot fell to the BU keeper to close the game.
- NU goalkeeper Tobias Jahn made seven saves in the contest, stopping all but one BU shot on target.
- It's the second straight 1-1 draw in the series history between the two programs, with BU now leading 23-10-3 in the all-time series. The Huskies have been undefeated in the series at Parsons Field since 2016.
